Situated in Harghita county, at the boarder line with Mures county, at just 8 km away from Sovata, Praid is waiting for you in every season to make your holidays unforgettable.
At about 500 m altitude, it is surrounded by forested hills, the nature offering a true show of colours specific for every season; most of the people who came here had the impression of being alive for the first time.
Year after year, modern hostels rised, mixing with the traditional ones, making a vast offert. We are waiting for you in the most wonderful gardens, filled with animals, playgrounds for children and of course we cant forget the barbeques and the open air restore places. Some of the hostels have their own restaurants, specialized in german cuisine, transilvanian but also international cuisine. Some of the hostels still keep the antique air and every object from their garden has its own story to tell. The choice for your ideal holiday location is up to you.

Beside the salt mine from Praid, which is the main attraction, the city itself represents the start point for many touristic points:
The Salt Canion ( 1 km ) embraces Praid, so that you enter from one side of the town and you exist on the other side, after a smouth walk for about 2 hours, having the possibility to admire the " sculptures" made by salt during years, helped by its " companion ", rain, but also the first salt mine that was discovered here.
Rapsonne fortress ( 6 km ) - even if the ruins of the fortress are not well preserved, the landscape offers an outstanding view, the road is easy to fallow, being a forest road and up to the hill where you can find the residence of Dracula's mother with its beautiful legend.
Sovata ( 8 km ) - here you can admire the special house architecture, you can eat at one of the many terraces, you can relax and threat different skin affections, but also rheumatic and gynecological affections in the salted water of Bear's Lake, the most well-known salted lake from Europe. This lake is also build for fun activities, opened from 1st of July. You can walk in the woods nearby, looking for new touristical points : Tivoli Lake, the Salt Mountain, salted lakes from nearby such as Red Lake, Black Lake, Green Lake, Alunis Lake and Mierla Lake.
Corund ( 8 km ) - famous for their artisans, it offers you a true traditional culture, all along the principal road are opened stores of traditional objects made from wood, ceramics and fabrics. A walk here with carriage or sleigh in winter on Paul's Valey or Aragonit Mine will close your day in a unique way. If you are interested we can organize short journeys in the artisans workshops, ready to learn new and interesting things about traditions and culture, secretes known only by them.
Miercurea Nirajului ( 30 km ) or Baile Homorod ( 50 km ) - if you like horses and ridings or you just want to show your children the love animals give, this is the perfect place for that.
Bezid Lake ( 50 km ) - the sad story of the village that had to move to different arias because of the communists, but as an affront the ruines of the church are still visible in the water, remembering the tragedy of Bezid Lake. Also here you can find the Straw Hats Museum from Criseni, where are organized small workshops for those who want to make this traditional object, but also house decorations and Christmas objects.
Sighisoara ( 70 km ) - the Medieval Fortress, Clock Tour Museum, the Churh Hill, are just a few of the touristical points that you can visit in this old city. At about 20 km away from Sighisoara to Medias, is Danes, the place where time forgot about, where you can relax for hours, riding, admirring the horses, poneys and ostrichs, you can eat and walk enjoying the peace that reigns here.
Targu Mures ( 70 km ) - beside the Culture Palace, the old fortress, the center of the city and many shops, you can't miss to visit the Zoo, which is really good designed and maintained.
Bucin - Lazarea Castel - Gheorgheni - Red Lake - cheile Bicazului - Bicaz Lake ( 160 km )
A one day trip, having the possibility to admire the nature's beauties, you can boat to wander on Red Lake or Bicaz Lake, eat at one of the restaurants from the edge of the lake, or take a ride with the ATV. If you still have time to walk, you can visit Durau resort from the bottom of Ceahlau Massive and Borsec resort.
Odorheiul Secuiesc - Zetea Lake ( 60 km ) - another beautiful area.
Odorheiul Secuiesc - Baile Homorod - Vlahita - Miercurea Ciuc - Baile Tusnad - St. Anna Lake ( 180 km ) - on this road you can visit many resorts for health but also for fun, Miko Castel from Miercurea Ciuc and St Anna Lake - also known as the Vulcano Lake, having a beautiful legend.
Sighisoara - Rasnov - Brasov - Poiana Brasov - Sinaia ( 200 km ) - many castels and historical monuments on this road that will delight you for sure, and here are just some of the examples Bran Castel, Peles Castel, Pelisor Castel, and many more.
As soon as the weather will allow us, the salted lake from Sovata is waiting for you to " get you white of salt ", being very concentrated and beneficial for gynecological and rheumatical deseases. You can also have the same treatment in the spa near the lake.
During winter you can ski at Bucin ( 20 km away medium difficulty trail ), at Bogdan ( 15 km away , with 2 trails and chairlift), but also on Alunis trail from Sovata ( 20 km away , with trail for advanced of about 1200 m distance, with chairlift and another trail for begginers with skilift)
Both summer and winter, you can do fitness ( 7 Ron / pers / hour ) or sauna and Jacuzzi ( 13 Ron/pers/hour) for minimum 7 days offering discount subscriptions. You can walk around the wooded hills of Praid, visit the Ethnological Museum, the Reformed Church, Catolic Church and the Orthodox Church, Memorial House of Aprily Layos, where you can eat at one of the restaurants with german or hunting cuisine, at the terraces crowned with colorful flowers or trout from the Castle Field ( 20 km ) . In the old city of Praid you can find playgrounds for children, and during summer here are organized many concerts and shows. Riding the carriage or sleigh is also interesting.
